The Team:
Brunswick Automotive was formed by Dave Ashford as Brunswick Motorsport over a decade ago and have been preparing race winning cars ever since. Initially specializing primarily in the development and construction of racing Alfa Romeo’s, Brunswick built cars have won numerous titles in both the Alfa Romeo Championship and the Auto Italia series. Further confirmation of Brunswick's early credentials can be found through successes in motorsport events as diverse as the London-Sahara World Cup Rally ,historic racing & Mini Miglia's .
In 2002 Brunswick Motorsport, decided to take on the challenge of the Nurburgring 24 Hours, an event widely recognized as one of the world’s toughest races. The team defied its “rookie” status and their Alfa Romeo 156 TS posted a good finish. Furthermore, later in the season the potential of the team was further confirmed, with a class victory in the first running of the "resurrected" Willhire endurance race at Snetterton. In 2003 Dave Ashford forged a partnership with Giles Groombridge in order to help develop the business and manage the fledgling race team side of the operation. Together the pair have fielded cars in the British GT series, Britcar championship, and have participated in the inaugural 24 Hour events at Silverstone, Bahrain and Dubai. Brunswick engineers have also experienced single seater racing having worked for teams in A1GP and International Formula Master.
In addition to offering participating in national and International events, Brunswick Automotive operate a complete race engineering facility, offering expertise in all aspects of race car construction and development,in addition to trackday preparation and performance car servicing, upgrades and maintenance.
